Improvement on assembly process for deep groove ball bearing with ball gap

Abstract: In view of inefficiency of manual pressing ball craft, the labor intensity being big and being easy to miss balls about deep groove ball bearings with ball gap,a kind of automatic assembly balls machine was developed to realize the function of automatic filling balls and automatic moving products, improve the production efficiency, degree of automation and reliability, reduce the labor intensity of the workers.

1. Introduction

There are two series of deep groove ball bearings with ball loading notches, 200 and 300, namely single row and double row, accompanied by various structural deformations, such as open or closed (with dust cover or sealing ring) structures, with one ball loading notch on the inner and outer rings, as shown in Figure 1, allowing the use of more and larger balls than standard deep groove ball bearings. Compared with standard bearings of the same model, single row deep groove ball bearings with ball ports have larger radial bearing capacity and lower rotational speed; It can be divided into two types: with or without a retainer. The double row deep groove ball bearings with ball mounting notches are designed to match the single row bearings. These bearings have continuous alternating stress contact between the ball and the raceway, and can withstand both radial and axial loads acting in both directions.

Deep groove ball bearings with ball mounting notches are widely used in fields such as automotive transmissions. They can limit axial displacement in limited space and withstand larger radial loads with smaller bearings under conditions of small axial displacement.

2. Introduction to the assembly process of deep groove ball bearings with ball mounting notches

2.1 Selection Method

Deep groove ball bearings with ball mounting notches are also assembled using an optional method. In order to facilitate ball mounting from the notch, the maximum limit value of the clearance group is generally used for fitting. This type of bearing is inconvenient to remove after filling the ball, so it is necessary to ensure that the radial clearance is qualified before filling the ball.

2.2 Free insertion of steel balls within the filling angle

When assembling this type of bearing, multiple steel balls can be freely inserted within the range of the optimal ball filling angle of 186 ± 3 °, and the remaining steel balls should be inserted from the ball filling gap. To prevent the steel ball from falling out, during the design, the curvature radius of the inner and outer ring notches of the bearing is equal to or greater than the curvature radius of the steel ball. However, the minimum distance between the inner and outer notches is smaller than the diameter size of the steel ball, and there is a certain locking amount at the junction of the ball loading notch and the raceway. Therefore, using the ball loading notch to load the ball, the steel ball is also not easy to enter the bearing raceway.

2.3 Use the ball loading gap to install the remaining steel balls

The steel ball outside the filling angle needs to be loaded using the ball loading gap. When loading the ball, the gaps on the inner and outer rings should be aligned, and the gaps on the inner and outer rings should be stretched out through elastic deformation. After the gap size is slightly increased, the steel ball can smoothly fall into the bearing raceway.

3. HW-7000 bearing automatic ball loading machine

The deep groove ball bearing with a ball loading gap originally used a pure manual ball pressing process, which has low production efficiency, high labor intensity, and is prone to ball leakage. To solve the above problems, an automatic ball loading machine has been developed, which realizes the functions of automatic ball loading and automatic cutting, improves production efficiency, automation level and reliability, and reduces the labor intensity of workers. The HW-7000 automatic ball loading machine for rolling bearings is an automated equipment for ball loading of this type. It consists of ten parts: conveying device, feeding device, clamping device, outer ring positioning device, inner ring positioning device, ball feeding device, stamping device, discharge device, cutting device, and discharge device. The appearance of the equipment is shown in Figure 2. This equipment integrates functions such as loading, automatic detection, automatic ball loading, automatic discharge, automatic discharge, and string rod cutting to achieve automated production.

3.1 Working principle

The working principle of the HW-7000 bearing automatic ball loading machine is as follows (taking the 370309Y product as an example).

(1) Manual feeding. Manually place 7 steel balls into the inner and outer rings and place them on the conveyor belt. At this time, the inner and outer rings are not concentric. The conveyor belt will send the bearings that have already been partially loaded with steel balls to the feeding device, and then the feeding cylinder will drive the push block to automatically load the material.

(2) Automatic clamping. When the bearing reaches the designated position, the clamping cylinder drives the connecting rod, and the bearing is clamped using the sealing ring on the connecting rod and the linear optical axis driven by two needle shaped cylinders.

(3) Automatic detection. The sensor detects the gap between the inner and outer rings, aligning the gap between the inner and outer rings for ball placement, making it easier for the bearing to install the ball.

(4) Automatic ball delivery. The ball feeding cylinder of the ball feeding device drives the ball feeding mechanism to automatically feed the steel balls, causing them to roll one by one to the alignment of the inner and outer ring notches.

(5) Automatic ball loading. The stamping rod of the stamping device automatically loads the ball under the drive of the main pressure head cylinder.

(6) Automatic dribbling. After the steel ball is placed, the ball shifting cylinder of the stamping device drives the ball shifting plate to automatically shift the ball, repeating the process of releasing and shifting the ball four times, thereby completing the installation of a bearing ball.

(7) Automatically release. After the ball installation is completed, the cylinder returns to its initial state and the bearings are released.

(8) Automatic discharge. After the cylinder is released, the discharge cylinder of the discharge device drives the push block to push the bearing to the discharge plate. Under the action of its own gravity, the material is discharged through the lower bottom plate of the discharge plate.

(9) Automatic discharge. The bearings enter the discharge seat through the discharge plate, and the discharge cylinder drives the push plate to push the installed bearings one by one to the heavy block.

(10) Manual string cutting. When the discharge channel has arranged 18 bearings, manually string the rods to remove the bearings.

(11) When it is necessary to replace the steel ball in the storage tank, the material cylinder seat can be manually lifted upwards until the bottom surface of the ball blocking plate is flush with the upper edge of the goal tube. Then, push the ball blocking plate towards the goal tube until the hole in the material cylinder seat is completely blocked, and remove the storage tank to facilitate the replacement of the steel ball.

4. Conclusion

By using the HW-7000 bearing automatic ball loading machine, batch continuous ball loading production has been achieved. The company has achieved a production capacity of over 100000 sets on 370309 products, reducing the labor intensity of workers, improving the assembly efficiency and automation level of this type of bearing, and maximizing the protection of the raceway and steel ball jamming caused by the ball filling process of this type of bearing. It has achieved the transformation and progress from manual assembly to automatic assembly.
